Luxembourg provides fast start finance to combat climate change
Luxembourg will provide 9 million euro, i.e. 12 million $ US, over the 2010-2012 period for fast start finance. In 2010, 3 million euro have been allocated to the Adaptation Fund, the United Nations Collaborative Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries (UN-REDD) and the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery. This funding is new and additional to existing official development assistance (ODA) by Luxembourg which amounts to over 1 % of its GNI.
